Renewable Energy

In the view of global climate changes, there is hardly any person who underestimates how important it is to reduce air pollution and dependence on fossil energy. Even though water energy and biomass is rather widespread source of energy in Latvia, yet solar and wind power is being used much less. This definitely is a segment worth growing in.

Vaiņode Agro Holding group subsidiary Bio Future, SIA owns a biogas plants. The plants process pig manure coming from Vaiņodes bekons, SIA, which is a member of Vaiņode Agro Holding group. The plants are using it for producing energy for heating the pig farm, as well as sell it to the general power network. The residues remaining after the fermentation of biomass at the biogas power plants are great for fertilizing and improving agricultural soil.

Moreover, at AmberBirch, SIA territory there are solar panels installed of total capacity of 1 MW. The generated energy is being used for their own production needs, while selling the excess to open market.
