Forests cover more than a half of Latvia’s land, which is twice more than the average forestation numbers globally. Maximum profit comes when the industry generates the highest possible value-added. Moreover, successful development of wood processing triggers also the welfare of locals and creates more jobs in other industries, thus contributing to the general prosperity of the region.

AmberBirch, SIA was established in 2016 with the aim of setting up a veneer production facility in Krustpils Parish, Jēkabpils Municipality, and commenced operations in the summer of 2019. Today, AmberBirch, SIA is one of the most advanced manufacturers in the Baltic States and the largest specialised producer of rotary-cut birch veneer in the European Union. The company manufactures high-quality products for European and global markets, using advanced technologies and sustainable resources while adhering to high quality standards.

As part of the continued development of AmberBirch, SIA, a major production facility expansion project was implemented between 2024 and 2026, with approximately EUR 50 million invested in increasing production capacity and advanced technologies. As part of the project, the production premises were expanded by 15,000 m², infrastructure was upgraded, and highly automated production lines were installed. The expansion has enabled the company to significantly increase its birch veneer production capacity, enhance product quality and diversify its product range. The facility’s total production capacity currently stands at up to 90,000 m³ of veneer per year.
