Vaiņode Agro Holding, SIA, a part of AmberStone Group, is one of the biggest employers in Vaiņodes Region. It is a mother company of Vaiņodes bekons, SIA, one of the biggest pig farms in Latvia, growing about 34,000 fleshy piggies. The company closely follows the quality of the fodder and welfare of animals. Every year Vaiņodes bekons, SIA, also purchases 10 to 15 thousand tons of grain from the farmers, thus contributing to the development of local agriculture.
