Pillar Contractor to Redevelop Brasa Bridge Square

August 5, 2026

SIA “Pillar Contractor” has signed a contract for the redevelopment of Brasa Bridge Square. As a result, a modern and well-equipped public recreational space covering more than 15,000 m² will be created for the residents of the capital. Construction works are scheduled to commence in August.

The project includes:

  • installing modern outdoor lighting throughout the site, including the sports area, as well as a CCTV surveillance system;
  • refurbishing existing pedestrian paths, constructing new footpaths, and creating a new connecting pathway between the children's playgrounds;
  • constructing a cycle path alongside Brasa Bridge to improve the connectivity of the transport infrastructure;
  • creating a multifunctional recreational area with benches, chess and picnic tables, bicycle stands and other public realm amenities;
  • upgrading the children's playground by installing new surfacing that complies with current safety standards;
  • installing information boards and wayfinding signage to help visitors navigate the area.

The project also places particular emphasis on landscaping. Decorative planting will be created across an area of approximately 800 m², and 41 new trees will be planted, including oaks, maples, Japanese cherry trees and other species.

The project is being implemented as part of the Riga Municipality initiative "Development of Public Space for the Integration of the Brasa Mobility Point into the Urban Environment". It combines the creation of public space around the Brasa mobility point with the redevelopment of Brasa Bridge Square, creating a more convenient, safer and more attractive urban environment.

The project has been designed by SIA “Būvdizains”, while the construction works will be carried out by SIA “Pillar Contractor”. The construction contract amounts to EUR 1,301,480, including VAT.
